Around 4 decades ago, Shri Kumareshwara Arts and Commerce College was established at Hangal in 1980 by the name of Lingaikya His Holiness Poojya Shri Ma.Ni.Pra Kumara Mahaswamy ji, under Janata Shikshana Sahakari Society, with the blessings and far-sightedness of Parampoojya Lingaikya Shri Ma.Ni.Pra. Sadashiva Mahaswamy ji of Hangal Virktamath. The prestigious college, having fulfilled the intellectual and academic wishes of the poor and rural children, who were deprived of higher education in the region, holds the credit of producing more number of educated civilians by brightening their future in Karnataka educational arena. The institute still takes pride in providing quality higher education to the rural children of the region at large and the honorable MLA Shri. C.M .Udasi and honorable MP Shri. Shivkumar Udasi, having been the patrons for development of the institute, have heightened the dignity of the college.
